What’s included
in our regular check-up +
scale and clean procedure?

Our regular check-up + scale and clean includes;

routine check-up, taking x-rays (small and/or large) if outdated or if you’re a new patient, removing tartar build up, polish and fluoride application. But here’s the thing that makes our regular check-up special – EMS Airflow

Patients experienced EMS Airflow cannot forget the cleanness after the procedure. It removes stains, biofilms, plaques and early stage of your tartar build up on your natural teeth, restoration and implant crowns with a stream of air, water and very fine powder. Absolutely less painful and much faster than traditional way of scale and clean.

Have you felt sensitivity during scaling?
Don’t worry as we can use warm water to minimize the sensitivity.

How often should I take x-rays?

Dentists recommend take small x-rays every 6 to 18 months depending on your dental condition, if you are high risk in carries then we recommend taking it every 6months to monitor. Large x-rays (including OPG) are recommended at least every 1-2 years depending on your gum condition. It shows overall level of your bone holding your teeth and good diagnostic tool for periodontal disease (gum disease).

Gum treatments, tooth extractions and caring for wisdom teeth are some of our frequent procedures, so let’s take a look at each of these in turn.

Gum treatments at

Gum disease is an inflammation or infection of your gums, typically caused by poor oral hygiene. More specifically, poor brushing and flossing allows plaque (bacteria) to build up on your teeth and form a hard surface that’s difficult to remove. The easiest way to avoid gum disease is to have your teeth regularly inspected and cleaned by your dentists.

Our gum treatment consists of a deep cleaning using root planing and dental scaling to both treat and prevent the spread of gum disease. These procedures can be uncomfortable, so if your teeth are very sensitive, we can apply a local anaesthetic to your gums and tooth roots while the procedures are performed.

Tooth extractions
and wisdom teeth

Whilst we much prefer to save your teeth, there are instances when they can’t be saved, resulting in an extraction. Impacted wisdom teeth often result in pain and infection, as well as damage to adjacent teeth, tooth decay and gum disease. Sometimes, however, wisdom teeth grow in normally and pose no problems.

At EPPING BEYOND DENTAL, we will examine your wisdom teeth to ensure that they are growing normally, and if not, discuss a number of solutions, one of which is a safe extraction.
